FAQ

How do I get started with your service?

The first step is to contact me to set up a complimentary meet-and- greet.  This free initial consultation includes a visit to your home to meet you and your pets.  All of the information needed to care for your pets and home will carefully be taken down,  and during this visit I will also collect two copies of your house key and/or your garage door opener or key pad code.  Your information and key will be kept securely filed, and in the future pet care is just a phone call away.

What services do you offer?

Let’s Go Fido! offers comprehensive in-home pet care, dog walking, pet taxi and house and farm-sitting services. If you don’t see exactly the services you need listed,  please ask and I will do my best to accommodate you.

What areas do you service?

Loving care is provided to your pet in the following areas: Buckingham, Carversville, Doylestown, Forest Grove, Furlong,  Lahaska.  If you do not see your area listed, please call to inquire – exceptions may be made depending on travel time and scheduling.  Locations outside of service area may incur an extra .75 cents per mile travel surcharge.

What pets do you care for?

We do it all!!  Cats, dogs, birds, rabbits, ferrets and other small furry critters, fish, reptiles and the whole gamut of barnyard critters .  I have experience working with horses, sheep, goats, alpacas, chickens and geese as well.

What if I have an emergency and need pet care services on short notice?

It’s  preferred to give as much notice as possible to reserve your pet sitting service, as I work on a first come/first served basis, but every effort is made to accommodate emergencies and short notice trips.  Same day requests will incur a $4 surcharge and will be granted based on scheduling and availability.

My pet needs medication daily, can you accommodate this?

Of course!  I have experience giving oral medications,  insulin shots, and with other subcutaneous shots and fluids.  Some medication administration may incur additional fees, please call to discuss your particular needs.

What if my pet becomes sick or injured while under your care?

If your pet becomes ill or injured while they are in my care, I will notify you immediately and discuss the actions you want me to take.  I can transport them to their veterinarian or an emergency pet clinic.  If this becomes the case, please provide me with a monetary limit  to spend on medical expenses and make arrangements with your vet to pay them directly.  If I cannot reach you and  feel that your pet needs immediate medical attention, I will bring them to your vet or preferred emergency pet clinic and leave you a message that I am doing so.  Let’s Go Fido! will not be responsible for any veterinary fees.

How do I pay for service?

Payment is DUE at the time of the FIRST visit.  I accept cash, check, or payments may be paid via credit card through Paypal.  Regular customers/ongoing services will be invoiced with payment due upon receipt.  Late fee penalties will be assessed for accounts past 21 days.  Any check that is returned due to insufficient funds will be charged an additional $30.00 penalty fee, client will also be held  responsible for any additional bank or service fees.

Can I be notified once my pet has been walked or visited?

I  will be happy to update you each day in the manner you choose – by phone, text message, email or written note  – to let you know that your pets are okay, and to tell you about anything unusual I noticed or enjoyed with your kiddos, and send a photo. Or if you want to get away and only want to know if there is a problem,  we can accommodate that as well.

What if the weather is not cooperating?

If the weather is not up to par on a day you have a service scheduled due to heavy rain, extreme heat or snow, your pet’s visit will be spent playing inside with toys and cuddling.  Or we may work on some basic training commands or tricks depending on your pet’s interests and inclinations.

What is your policy for home access/key service?

We request that you provide us with 2 copies of your house key (1 key for pet sitter and 1 key to be stored in a secure location).  The best time to give us your house key will be at the initial consultation. If it is not available at this time and will need to be picked up before the stay, there will be a $10 charge. At the end of the stay, you are more than welcome to keep a key on file with us for future stays. If you choose not to do this, the key will be left at your home at the last visit, and the door locked behind us. If you do not prefer this, the key will be dropped off at your home after your return and there will be a $10 charge. Please be sure to specify at the consultation which key service you prefer.  Let’s Go Fido and/or our insurance company cannot be responsible for keys that are requested to be left in a hidden place. We recommend two forms of entry be kept on file during your pet’s stay with us (this can include keys or garage openers). In the event that a key or entry pad does not work or a garage openers batteries go dead, it is always good to have back up. If you choose not to leave two forms of entry with us, you will be asked to sign a form releasing Let’s Go Fido! of any types of expense that may be necessary to help get us back inside to finish the duration of your pet’s care. This can, for example, include professional help such as a locksmith.

 What is your Holiday policy?
